Part 39: Terre Haute

I left work in Chicago and headed south down US 41 towards Terre Haute. Along the way I stopped for gasoline in a small town. About ten minutes after I started driving again, I got a text alert from my bank that someone was trying to use my credit card to buy groceries from a store in Sacramento, California. My credit card had been compromised somehow when I bought gasoline at the pump. My bank turned off my credit card and was going to mail me a new one. I was able to eat dinner at Burger King using a second credit card. Carrying a backup credit card is something I recommend for all travelers.

I arrived in downtown Terre Haute around 10pm. I checked into the Candlewood Suites. Next, I headed over to The Play Pen on the northeast part of town. The Play Pen is a newer strip club that only opened in January 2021. The club did not yet have a liquor license, although the staff thought in another couple of months they would. I drank a twenty-ounce bottle of Dr. Pepper and took in the stage show. Out of the five dancers I saw, only two were to my liking. Medusa was a gorgeous goth type with black hair, brown eyes, pale white skin, and a lot of tattoos. Unfortunately, she was locked down with a regular customer. Despite my tips at the stage, she did not take the hint that I wanted to see her in private. I ended up taking my second choice, Hera, back to the private area for a couple topless lap dances. She had long brown hair, brown eyes, pale skin, and big C cups that were fun to grab.

I drove back to the hotel to park my vehicle and then walked across the street to a bar called The Copper Bar for a Budweiser. For late on a Friday night, this bar was as dead as a doornail, which was surprising to me since Indiana State University was literally a couple blocks away. The few attractive females in attendance were with their boyfriends. There were no single women to game. I finished a second Budweiser and then walked back across the street to the Candlewood Suites. I started my day at 5am, and it was now 1am. I laid down on the bed in my clothes and fell asleep almost instantly.
